Second grade students heard the story Journey by Aaron Becker. After hearing the story, students were inspired to create their own imaginary worlds filled with castles, magic carpets and exotic animals. In the story, a little girl is able to bring to life everything that she draws creating a beautiful, magical and surreal world. In the same spirit, my students used their rich imaginations to create exciting worlds, imagining unicorns, magic carpets, kings and queens and using crayons and watercolors to bring their adventurous worlds to life.
